Medieval Bone Birka Bag
Medieval Bone Birka Bag
Framed in bone and stitched by shadow, this relic claimeth its lineage from the elder craft of Birka. Where once the shaping was of wood, now standeth the bone of coyote in its stead. About it is laid a stout weaving of heavy tapestry fashioned in the manner of the Middle Age... a safeguard for silver of passage, a pocket oracle, the painter’s rouge, and the keys of hall and hearth. Downy fur of the fox doth grace its edge. With stitches of true woolen thread is it bound, and from soft braided leather of the deer doth it hang. A treasure of the Viking age, reimagined.
