Nox Strigum Wood Mortar & Pestle
Nox Strigum Wood Mortar & Pestle
“Nox Strigum..." Witch Night
Upon this mulberry wood mortar, the scene is burned in fire and story: drawn from a London print of 1720, when rowan was nailed to doorframes and charms were whispered into the dark. A witch and her master ride the night air, bold as storm-crows, while a lone figure below looks on, caught between fear and fate.
Each line was burned by hand as a warning... a reminder that shadows have always walked beside us. Upon the pestle, night's stars upon the pestle.
Food-safe and strong, it serves in the grinding of herbs, roots, or resins — whether for your kitchen’s hearth or your altar’s work. Here, flame, wood, and tale are bound together, an heirloom of both craft and cunning.
