This hand-stitched treasure is worked in Mammen style nålbinding, the ancient looping craft older than wheel or knitting, drawn from the very days when the longships cut through grey northern waters. The yarn is a Corriedale–merino blend, soft upon the brow yet stout against winter’s bite. The colors call to harvest and fire: deep wine red, embracing the crown; fading into bands of ochre gold and woody brown, with a whisper of pale bone at the joining... like sunset sinking low over snow-lit fields. It sits snug and honest, a cap made for work, for walking the wilds, or for keeping the chill from one’s ears by firelight. A garment rooted in history, carried into the now. Perfect for reenactment.
