Wormwood keeps the old watch. Bitter and silver-leafed, it has long been the herb set at the threshold… to keep the dreamer's wits gathered close while the rest goes wandering. Mugwort opens the gate; wormwood stands beside it. Steep them together, and the cup carries you the way night carries a traveller: down past the last waking thought, into that unnamed dark the old tongues called Draum-Njörun … dream-Njörun, the dwarves' word for night itself. Drink slow, and keep something near to catch what returns with you.
