Bound in natural jute twine with a single rose blossom resting at its base, this smudge gathers mugwort, wormwood, and lavender... three of the old protective herbs, dried for the work of cleansing. Mugwort has long been carried and burned to sweep a space clean of unwelcome energy and to guard the threshold between the seen and the unseen, sharpening intuition as the smoke rises. Wormwood, its bitter sister, is the banisher... traditionally kindled to drive out lingering spirits and turn back malice, clearing the air of whatever should not remain. Lavender softens what the others sever, drawing calm and peace into the cleared space and inviting rest where there was disquiet. The lone rose at the foot is a small offering of grace, a reminder that what is purified may also be blessed. Drawn through with smoke, this bundle is made to unsettle stagnant and negative energy, send off ill-meaning spirits, and leave a room feeling swept, quieted, and its own again.

Every herb here is homegrown, tended organically in my own witch's garden. This bundle is made without white sage, which has been over-harvested from its wild native stands and holds deep ceremonial meaning for many Indigenous peoples of North America... so these herbs offer a cleansing smoke drawn from European folk tradition instead, gathered with care and without depleting a plant that isn't ours to take.
