A Keeper of Small Treasures

Here is a pouch such as a lady of olden days might have carried at her girdle, to hold her coin, her keys, her charms, and the small secrets of the day. Each one is shaped from wedge-cut panels that meet in a rounded belly, pairing rich velvet or patterned cloth against deep, shadowed linen or velvet... a quiet dance of light and dark. Some wear a band of woven ribbon, stitched at the waist like a spell worked in thread.

The mouth is gathered by silken cords that glide and cinch with a whisper, finished with fabric-wrapped knots and a tassel swinging from the base. Every bag is handcrafted by Mairwen, fiber artist and textile artist, with machine stitching for strength where the seams must hold, and hand sewing where the finishing deserves a slower, more patient hand. No two are quite alike, for each is cut and pieced as the cloth and the season demand.

Carry it at the belt, slip it into a basket, loop around your wrist, or hang it by the hearth for the home spirit to admire... it will keep what you give it.
